Why did people sleep on Diamond Shell?

I dunno, I always liked dude. I'm definitely trying to play this tonite.
If you didn't know, dude is Biz Markie's cousin. Biz produced the song (and the entire album) and there's definitely something very 'Biz' about the sample too.

Something New

I don't know what the deal with Grand Daddy I.U. really is, he just never seems to get the respect he's due. Dude doesn't even have a Wiki page, now what kinda BS is that? Anyway, his 1990 debut album is an old fave and this is the best 12" off of it.

Grand Daddy I.U.: Something New
Oh my god what a loop! Produced by Biz Markie, of course.

Grand Daddy I.U.: Something New (Basement Mix)
Remixed by Cutmaster Cool V and featuring Biz on the chorus

Grand Daddy I.U.: Dominoes
The b-side banger. I used to always play this with the Donald Byrd jam and the Talkin All That Jazz remix.

BONUS:
I can definitely get with Cam's cover version as well. Too bad it never blew up like it should have.

Let It Roll, Get Bold

What we have here is Marley Marl's bangin' extended version of BDK's Set It Off that was only ever released in the UK, followed by Doug Lazy's classic hip house jam that builds on Kane's opening line.

Big Daddy Kane: Set It Off (Extended Mix) (1988)
Doug Lazy: Let It Roll (1989)

Btw, how come I can't find a decent photo of Doug anywhere?
