""In the City" is a song written by Barry DeVorzon and Joe Walsh for the soundtrack to the film The Warriors. The song was first recorded by Walsh and released on The Warriors soundtrack album in 1979. Another version recorded by the Eagles was included on their 1979 album The Long Run.

Timeless little jam by the 80's teenage superstars and another faultless Ray Parker production. The 12" version is some 2 minutes longer than the album version too. Make sure to check the video as well.

The coolest thing about record shopping in Japan is that you're bound to see records you didn't even know existed (like this). I think the Memory Lane instrumental here is more or less just a skillful edit job, but it's still pretty cool if you love the Reuben Wilson loop like I do.

2 Years of DJ's Delight

I just realized I started this little hobby of mine exactly 2 years ago today, with pretty boring posts on Atmosfear, Sade and local producers. It took one week and a post on an ancient mix of mine to generate any traffic, though.

I want to thank all of my regular visitors and subscribers for hanging on so long. This has been a lot of fun, taught me a lot about music and opened some doors too so let's keep it going.

Two celebrate these 2 years, here's 2 versions of my favorite weird old school classic. Area Code 615's harmonica jam from 1970 is pretty well known, but the mid-80's Italian bootleg remix incorporating the You'll Like It Too break is kind of obscure I guess. As weird as the groove is, it seems it always appealed to a lot of different DJ's, maybe it's time someone recycled it again.
