Classic Time #51
This used to be a real staple for me like 10 years ago. I just fished it out of the storage, here we go again.

Just revisiting an old fave before I run out the door. I love the production on this.
I loved Lovesick ever since I first heard Step In The Arena. I can still clearly remember the first time I heard the Delfonics jammy too. Blew my mind right there.

I always liked Waajeed's tribute to Marvin's timeless I Want You, especially the faster second part. And that's saying a lot as I can't stand most Motown remixes out there.
Btw, the Curtis Mayfield Rapping radio show is now re-upped, for those who missed it on Zshare.Labels: classic, radio show, soul

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is most likely my favorite DJ Spinna production ever. I guess part of the charm is the fact that I find remixes of such classics almost always a mere waste of time. This was originally only released in Japan (it was swiftly bootlegged in the UK though) and if I'm not mistaken that is the case to this day.Labels: classic, New Jersey, slow jam, soul

The Rapping album was sent to select radio stations back in 1972. It contains a complete 25 minute radio show where Curtis talks about the then current Superfly album, his earlier hits and his career. I always found it fascinating listening. I even played it on my radio show once, people seemed to appreciate it too.Labels: radio show, re-up, soul, unreleased
